الْبَارِئُ
Al-Bari'
The One who creates all things flawlessly and harmoniously without any prior model or pattern.
Haşr 59:24
Al-Bari' declares that Allah brings each created thing into being in flawless order, harmony, and proportion—His creation contains no contradiction or defect. Al-Khaliq emphasizes creation out of nothing; Al-Bari' emphasizes the precise, original, and harmonious shaping of what is created. The Prophet (peace be upon him) described how the human being is formed in stages within the womb: forty days as a drop, forty as a clinging form, forty as a small lump, and then the soul is breathed in. The servant who invokes Al-Bari' recognizes the divine order woven into every cell and faculty of their being, and turns toward gratitude and surrender.
Abdullah ibn Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him) reported: The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) told us: 'Each one of you is collected in the womb of his mother for forty days as a drop, then for the same period as a clinging form, then for the same period as a lump of flesh. Then Allah sends an angel who is ordered to write four things: his provision, his lifespan, his deeds, and whether he will be wretched or fortunate. Then the soul is breathed into him.'
