الْهَادِي
Al-Hadi
The One who guides whomever He wills to the straight path, honouring them with true direction.
Hac 22:54
Al-Hadi declares that Allah gives guidance and shows the straight path. In Surah al-Hajj 22:54 He says: 'Indeed, Allah guides those who believe to a straight path.' Guidance comes in three forms: creation (fitrah), sent revelation and a messenger, and the heart's turning to Allah. All three are graces of Al-Hadi. The servant who reflects on this name entrusts themselves and their loved ones to Allah's guidance—praying that the path of their child, spouse, or relative not be pulled from His hand. The 'ihdina al-sirat al-mustaqim' (guide us to the straight path) of al-Fatihah asks Al-Hadi for guidance 17 times a day.
The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) used to pray: 'O Allah, I ask You for guidance, taqwa, chastity, and self-sufficiency.'
