الْحَسِيبُ
Al-Hasib
The One who takes account of every deed with perfect precision, missing not the slightest detail.
Nisâ 4:6
Al-Hasib declares that Allah counts every deed, keeps the account, and renders to His servants a complete reckoning. In Surah an-Nisa' 4:6 He says: 'Sufficient is Allah as a Reckoner.' The word also carries the meaning 'the One who is enough'—the servant learns to find Allah sufficient. The servant who reflects on this name develops a habit of constant self-accounting—living 'Umar's (may Allah be pleased with him) maxim: 'Take account of yourselves before you are taken to account.' Reviewing the day's deeds each night to prepare for Al-Hasib's scale—this is the believer's daily discipline.
The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said: 'The wise person is one who calls themselves to account and works for what comes after death. The weak is one who follows their desires and then asks of Allah.'
