الْمُحْصِي
Al-Muhsi
The One who counts and knows all things individually, leaving nothing unaccounted for.
Meryem 19:94
Al-Muhsi declares that Allah knows the count of every thing—each being He has created, each deed performed—reckoned one by one. In Surah al-Jinn 72:28 He says: 'He has encompassed what is with them and counted everything in number.' The servant who reflects on this name remembers that no deed escapes notice—a word of backbiting, a half-date of sadaqah, a sincere du'a in the night are all counted by Al-Muhsi. Knowing that even an atom's weight gains worth with Allah (Az-Zalzalah 99:7-8), the servant stops belittling small deeds.
The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said: 'Do not belittle any act of goodness—even meeting your brother with a smiling face.'
