الْمُقْتَدِرُ
Al-Muqtadir
The One who orders and governs all things through His omnipotent authority.
Kamer 54:42
Al-Muqtadir declares that Allah's power is perpetual, that He continually manifests His might. While Al-Qadir means 'the One who has power,' Al-Muqtadir means 'the One who has used His power and continues to use it.' In Surah al-Qamar 54:55 it is said: 'in a seat of honor beside an All-Capable Sovereign.' The servant who reflects on this name knows Allah's power is not merely a potential but a reality manifesting in every moment—every breath, every heartbeat, every fall of rain is the work of Al-Muqtadir.
The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said: 'Allah's hand is full; no expenditure diminishes it. He continues to give generously night and day.'
